Progress editions show plenty of signs our region is thriving

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Anyone who has doubts about the Southwest Nebraska economy hasn't been reading the Progress 2008 editions inserted in this week's editions of the Gazette.

There are plenty of signs of confidence in the future of the Golden Plains, from new industries and businesses, investments in new facilities, startups, expansions and improvements over the past year.

The cover of Monday's edition is a good example; including photos of the new U-Save Pharmacy building on North U.S. Highway 83, the attractively remodeled Taco John's and the new Viaero Wireless store on West B, and Lifetime Eye Care in downtown McCook.

And it's not all business; there are examples of artistic expression ranging from bronzes to apparel to other signs of creativity throughout the region.

There's more inside today, Thursday and Friday, so be sure to allow a little extra time to read the paper this week. We think you'll agree there are great things going on.

If you prefer to read on your computer, the complete editions are available online at http://mccookgazette.com and clicking on the "electronic edition" link at the left of the page.
