Send checks

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Dear Editor,

I strongly urge all taxpayers to send their bonus checks to the orphans in Iraq.

Then they will not throw rocks at the American soldiers.

Steve Stramel,

  • How about simply giving the bonus check to your church. I intend on doing that. Good thought though, doing something above selfish. Shalom

  • Why in the world would you give money to a church? God is supposed to be in charge of the church so nothing wanting there. If you want to be selfless and charitable, give your money to the food bank, a homeless shelter, the Humane Society, an abuse clinic, a clothing drive, a crisis center, meals on wheels, etc. etc. Too often the church is viewed as the place to send money. You might consider sending your charitable money to an institution that has an actual need instead of one founded on ancient mythology.
