Letter to the Editor

Vigilant voters

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Dear Editor,

The voting public must be very vigilant before casting a vote for the next president. As horrible as war is, America cannot afford to exit the Middle East hurriedly.

We must elect the person who realizes the Arab Nations hate us and their agenda is to destroy us and have Islam dominate the world.

Should America leave hastily from the Middle East, our oil supply will be cut off.

Then we just as well park our vehicles and sit in our rocking chairs.

Lorene Kordenbrock,

McCook

  • Please do not use the term 'Arab Nations,' as the term tends to include 'ALL' Muslems. Most, except the fundimentalist's, want to live in peace. Yes, there is a problem, as we cannot tell who is who, until the bad one tries to kill us. Then, it may be too late to matter. The Bible tells us we cannot change their mind, but we still win.

  • I'm trying to understand the logic which says a group of nations the "Arab Nation" -whichever ones those are- will cut off our petroleum supply any sooner if we cease our occupation of their homeland than if we continue it for another 100 years as one of the candidates has suggested is possible.Recall one of Osama Bin forgotten's rallying points was the presence of American military forces in Saudi Arabia, which was addressed by removing them with no cries of "appeasement" from the far right. One wonders if the next Commander in Chief who finds it necessary to sacrifice the lives of young people for dubious ends will have the courage to acknowledge that sacrifice by perhaps meeting at least one of the flights delivering flag-draped coffins to Dover Air Force Base as opposed to having them snuck in as freight in the dead of night.
