Letter to the Editor

Change is good

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Dear Editor,

In reply to Gloria Masoner's column in the Gazette, Jan. 10, 2008, I will say to her:

Who in their right mind would want to live through the Bush administration again?

Things have (gone) to pieces since he has been in office.

Look at the war he got us into and we are still there. That was uncalled for, to go over and start a war.

He kept telling them we were coming and gave them time to hide the weapons of destruction if they had them. Look at the price of oil and he is a big oil man so don't tell me this administration is fine.

Look at all the men that have been killed in the war needlessly, and still a lot more will be killed before it is over.

There have been very many broken-hearted parents from losing their son in the war and still the war is going on.

The interest rates on CDs have (gone) bad and that is what us senior citizens live on, is the interest.

They worry about these people who bought all these high-priced houses they couldn't afford, but they never worry about the senior citizens. Look at the little raise the senior citizens receive for Social Security.

That is not a drop in the bucket towards paying bills that we have to pay. Everything has skyrocketed, but our income hasn't increased.

Health insurance has really went wild. When I first got my supplemental insurance, it was $700 a year; now it is almost $4,000 and our income hasn't increased according to the price increase of everything else.

So we had better have a change in the White House and hope it is for the better.

Irene Wright

P. S. I also voted for Bush but am sorry that I did now.
