Letter to the Editor
Film is dangerous
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
Dear Editor,
I am hoping that our (local theaters) will NOT show the movie "The Golden Compass."
It is to be released Dec. 7 and is based on the least offensive of the three books that the author, Philip Pullman, has written.
He said in a 2003 interview that "My books are about killing God." He has been touted as "The Most Dangerous Author in Britain" and is described as the writer "the atheists would have been praying for, if atheists prayed."
He is an avowed atheist. I sincerely hope that parents/caregivers will not allow their children to patronize this film. Further information can be found at: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/compass. asp
