Dear Editor,

It was a great ballgame and great defensive effort by both teams, MHS and CHS. Like getting three games in one, each team starting fresh and even three times.

It was also great to see all the McCook people in Lincoln Saturday. Many old classmates showed up and we did stay out late and reminisced about the game and the past 40 some years, a great time. I am very glad both wear red in that with myself and many brothers/sisters of mine attending McCook schools, two sons Dan and Josh playing their senior years for McCook and Crete respectivily and a current foster son Mike Burton playing for the Cardinals all I can say during and after is GO BIG RED.

Which, I did catch some flak about, for not picking a team to root for as the night went on. Mainly from my old buddy Kirk Kilpatrick (who I also call Big Red).

As far as comments on the game are concerned one of our Crete defensive coaches was heard to remark that they had no idea McCook's D was sooo fast, I just smiled and said "Duh, they're the McCook Bison."
