Bison effort one of which we can be proud

Monday, November 19, 2007

A win in overtime would have been a storybook ending for the McCook Bison 2007 football season, but Saturday's game was the next best thing.

Considering it was only McCook's fourth loss in six years -- none of them during the regular season -- players, coaches and fans have nothing to be down in the dumps about.

The overtime 7-14 loss -- the first overtime game in Class B championship history -- also should put an end to any talk of McCook being an unequal match for the best Eastern Nebraska has to offer.

We can take solace in the fact that most of this year's squad will be back for another run at the championship next fall.

Congratulations to players and coaches on a job well done.
