On writer's side
Dear Editor,
I have to take the side of Walt on his editorials on news, history, county and city history, city and state government, etc. He is a walking encyclopedia on Red Willow County and the surrounding area. We moved here less than two years ago and have learned so much about this area from Walt's writings. I just wish I would have collected each and every one of his reports. I think a booklet could be published and titled "BY WALT".
Sometimes a few toes get stepped on and a few feelings get hurt from newspaper items but that is life. I had a Great Grandfather that owned slaves in North Carolina. We had a relative that was beheaded by a Guillotine in France during the eighteenth century. That is family history, I can't change it and I can't be held accountable for it.
I don't have to agree with all editorials but I defend the right for them to be printed.
Keep up the good work Walt and I have a book that has a murder that happened many years ago east of here. I will try to get the book to you and I think you will find it very interesting and can print an article about it.
