McCook man faces federal prison time
OMAHA -- A McCook man faces prison sentences and fines after being indicted Thursday by a Nebraska federal grand jury on drug and felony gun possession charges.
Danny Kofler, 41, is charged with:
* Count I -- Possession with intent to distribute less than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The maximum possible penalty includes 20 years in prison, a fine of $1 million and three years of supervised release.
* Count II -- Possession of a semi-automatic handgun after being convicted of a felony. The possible penalty includes 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
* Count III alleges that the handgun, $26,080 in currency and a 2001 Ford F150 pickup should be forfeited to the United States as proceeds of the charges in Counts I and II or as property used to facilitate the offenses charged in Counts I and II.
