Letter to the Editor

Why publish photo?

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Dear Editor,

TI have tried to come up with a reason that the vehicle in this accident had to be put in the paper at all...let alone that it was hot off the press before some in Hayes County even knew who was killed. ["Sisters undergo treatment in Kearney hospital; brother killed in accident" (http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/1250414.html)]

Have we come to the place where whoever gets the scoop first gets the glory? No glory here. I'm pretty sure that if it were someone's family at the Gazette, it would not be published.

Please think again next time about who will see this picture and its effect. Thanks.

Patty Gohl,

  • I totally agree Patty! I think a written article would have been sufficient. It made me sick to see that picture on the front page!
