The gas ditch

When I was a young boy, I used to play around what we called the gas ditch.

To the best of my recollection it was located south of McCook. Looking back over the years, it was not a very safe place to play, but boys ...

My family moved to McCook around 1944. My father was a fireman with the C.B.& Q. railroad, we moved in 1956.

I would truly love to correspond with anyone from that era.
