Wrong Route 6 group

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Dear Editor,

I would like to note an error in the story about David Kunes, Aug. 6, 2007, by Walt Sehnert.

It was not the Highway 6 Association in Nebraska that was helping David and Ben with their cross-country adventure, it was the National U.S. Route 6 Tourist Association and its state division the Nebraska U.S. Route 6 Tourist Association.

We have been working closely with the two young men since they arrived in Long Beach, Calif. Even in 2006, we worked with David helping him prepare for the 3,652 mile bicycle trip.

Along his trip we arranged for lodging and provided maps and information as needed.

We are not, nor have ever been part of the Highway 6 Association. We were never any part of an art car group.

For information about our activities in Nebraska check out the Nebraska page on our Web site www.route6tour. com.

There you will find a picture of David in Sutton, Neb., with Jerry R. Johnson our Executive Director for the Nebraska U.S. Route 6 Tourist Association. Also in the picture with David is Ashley J. Thompson our Executive Director of Program Development and Liz Hofmann our Vice Chair (National Board of Directors) - Educational Programs.

Best Regards.

Russell J. Lombard,

President/CEO

National U.S. Route 6 Tourist Assn.
