Rebels 12 squad competes at Holdrege tourney

HOLDREGE -- The McCook 12 and under Rebels girls fastpitch softball team played at the Holdrege heat softball tournament over the weekend.

The Rebels won all three pool play game and allowed only one run all day.

In the first game McCook Rebels won 19-0 over the Holdrege Heat No. 2 team in three innings.

Kaylee Samway pitched two innings with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Jenna Smith pitched the third inning and had 3 strikeouts.

Kaylee Samway and Rachel Leitner each had a double and a single and Leitner had 4 RBIs.

Khyla Krepcik had a double and a RBI, Marisa Esch had 3 singles and a RBI, Madison Chitwood had 2 singles and 3 RBIs, Megan Ruppert had 2 singles and Riley Allen had a single and a RBI. Megan Rokusek had a RBI.

In the second game, the Rebels beat the Holdrege Heat Jerry team 8-0. Jenna Smith pitched and had 4 strikeouts.

Megan Ruppert had a triple and a single with 2 RBIs, Madison Chitwood, Marisa Esch, Rachel Leitner and Riley Allen all had singles and Madison, Marisa and Rachel all had RBIs.

In the third game, the McCook Rebels won 11 -1 after three innings against the Loomis Buckshot team.

Jenna Smith pitched with 3 strikeouts. Hollie Eiler had a double and a RBI. Riley Allen had two singles and 3 RBIs, Khyla Krepcik had two singles and 1 RBI. Madison Chitwood, Megan Ruppert, and Rachel Leitner each had a single.

The Rebels were the No. 1 seed going into the tournament play on Sunday, but came up short in the game against the Kearney Little Cats losing 7-6.

Jenna Smith pitched 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.

Megan Ruppert hit a double and a single with 2 RBIs, Jenna Smith had a double, Khyla Krepcik had two doubles, Madison Chitwood, Kaylee Samway, Marisa Esch, Rachel Leitner and Brit Broomfield all had singles with Madison and Hollie Eiler adding RBIs.
