Tax shakedown

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

Dear Editor,

Questions:

Is there a list of individuals in Kansas that can show impact from Nebraska's over-use of water?

How is the Republican River Compact from 1942 a realistic measure of water use in 2000 with the introduction of modern irrigation technologies and population changes?

How can the Republican River Compact be deemed a legitimate "compliance" document with no means to alert and correct in a timely manner? This is looking more like a taxpayer shake-down and above all, why is the Nebraska Representative siding with the Kansas?
