Letter to the Editor

Evolution is religion

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Dear Editor,

There are thousands of Christians in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas who do not believe the lie of evolution.

We believe the Bible when it says in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (and that includes all things in it and on it). Also John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus Christ) and the Word was with God and the Word was God. ALL things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made."

In our Bible class yesterday morning, Pastor Chris Atkins said "There has been so much pressure put on the officials at the college that they either have or are considering downgrading this course on Creation Science from a bonafide course on Creation Science to a minor course in the philosophy department.

May I remind those officials that we are the ones that pay the taxes and thus your salaries, NOT those who write in from other parts of the country.

Evolution is a religion, although it masquerades as a "science." Anything you have to take by faith is a religion. It takes more faith to believe evolution than it does the Bible.

Richard Lewontin, biologist and a leading evolutionist says, "We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs ... for we cannot allow a divine foot in the door."

Psalm 14:1a says, "The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God." Romans 1 tells us about men "who hold the truth in unrighteousness (keep it at bay, know it but refuse to order their lives by it).

My fellow Christians, please let your thoughts be made known.

Sincerely,

Paul Schneider

McCook
