Letter to the Editor

Do something

Friday, April 13, 2007

Dear Editor,

I have been waiting for a letter such as this one, and I, too, worry about kids causing injury to a child by another child.

The child who beat up the other should be taken off the bus for the rest of the school year, or Mom or Dad has to ride with the child, causing problems.

If we don't handle this correctly, and don't do anything about it, what is that child going to think, that he can do whatever this child wants and not have any consequences?

This abuse needs to be stopped ASAP, or we are going to have more problems later on. Like, maybe the child who caused abuse on another child might do it later on, thinking, oh, well, I will just get my hands spanked and not to do it any more.

I have been a parent for 23 years, and let me tell you, in raising my boys, you nip the problem in the bud, or it just gets worse. So, too, the parents out there who have a child hurting another child should get their child some help.

Cheryl Larreau,

McCook
