Letter to the Editor

Disappointed vet

Monday, March 26, 2007

Dear Editor,

We are on the eve of Memorial Day. First, I want to explain, as a vet myself, I have the utmost respect and gratitude for the holiday and those that have given their lives for our freedom.

The issue I have is with some of those who put up the flags in symbolism only and forget what some have made the ultimate sacrifice for.

If one was to listen to the stories in the valley, terms like trouble makers, rebels, outsiders, are quite common. Those terms are substituted, in my world, for someone who wants to be treated fair and expects it. Fair in my world falls under the category of freedom. I don't believe I am a extremist who sits around and listens to a.m. radio.

The ones trying to sell those terms are the ones that feel they have a Right of Passage because they are and have been locals. As a 25-year part-time resident who (with plans to be full time soon) is not going leave or be forced out, as some have suggested, when I have asked, to be treated equal and fair.

It is but a few who feel they have to throw up a smoke screen to protect their own corruption. It has been put in the paper, the Rosy O'Donnell, theory, that if you don't like the way it is, don't let the door hit you in the derriere.

This process of burying your head in the sand promotes the corruption of the town board! This is a question, because the board does not have a certified election due to the number of irregularities in the election, one being more people voting than are registered to vote and that the ballot for the absentee did not match the regular ballot for board members. Maybe they were too busy with law suits to take care of the village business.

One could believe derogatory terms of a few and leave their head in the sand or challenge the board to the truth and waste of money on lawyers for frivolous act.

Those who have pushed for the truth have been challenged by the board also. This would leave you to believe that corruption will prevail.

Disappointed Vet.

But plan to stay,

Dennis Stoltz,

Wilsonville
