Letter to the Editor
Artistic eyesore
Friday, December 29, 2006
Dear Editor,
The recent exhibit at the historical society, "Painting Music: Ryhthm and Movement in Art," has closed.
Hurray! It was a complete eyesore and an embarrasment to McCook.
And, also a waste of money.
The essay in the catalogue was boring enough.
The author, Sharen Kendidy, or whomever, sounds like another graduate student with a first job.
The staff of the High Plains Museum should have thrown these so-called works of art into the alley Dumpster.
With any luck at all the pictures are now in the basement of Sheldon Art Gallery in Lincoln.
And should remain there for eternity.
Steve Stramel,
McCook
