Plea for justice

Monday, December 11, 2006

Dear Editor,

On Friday night, Nov. 17, around 10 p.m., my friend's parked car sustained substantial rear end damage while being involved in a hit and run collision at 610 East 14th.

The vehicle is owned by a nice retired man. He did not have hit and run coverage and will have to pay for the repair out of his own pocket. He does not deserve to be stuck with this large bill because of the irresponsibility of another party.

I am sending out a plea for information to bring the responsible party forward to make restitution and do what is right.

Here are some of the facts 1. a maroon colored vehicle is responsible for the damage due to the color of the paint transfer in the collision, 2. a broken front end piece, that is only produced for a Ford Escape, was also left behind and recovered on the parked vehicle, 3. the guilty party was heading south of the hospital on East 14th Street, 4. as evidenced by the debris, their Ford Escape would have sustained substantial front-end damage favoring the front passenger side.

Any information leading to the guilty party will be greatly appreciated and can be given to the McCook CrimeStoppers, anonymously, for a possible reward. Should this party never be identified, I pray they can live with themselves! They will answer for their actions someday!

Sincerely,

Thomas R. Farr,

McCook
