Re-elect Mayor Berry

Dear Editor,

On Monday, Dec. 4, a new City Council will be seated and its first order of business will be to select a mayor. I am writing today in support of our current mayor, Dennis Berry.

 Mayor Berry has overseen the completion of the B Street construction project, the Barnett Park project, water and sewer improvements, the painting of the east and west water towers, improvements at the airport, the railroad settlement and other valuable projects throughout the community.

He has presided over the hiring of a new city manager, has successfully negotiated the water and sewer fines and has enhanced McCook's tradition of cooperation with state and federal governments. He has also maintained a cooperative relationship with our chamber of commerce, economic development corporation, our local school board and McCook Community College.

Mayor Berry has proved to be a worthy addition to McCook's long tradition of excellence in leadership and I sincerely hope that my McCook neighbors will contact both council members and council members elect, and urge them to retain Dennis Berry as Mayor.
