What's for lunch?
Just announced: Sen. Allen has been defeated.
That is the No. 6 win that the Democrats needed to give them control of both houses in the U.S. Congress.
As I think back on the political campaign that just ended, I think of something Pete Ricketts said early in the campaign.
He said that a vote for Sen. Nelson was a vote to put the likes of Sen. Ted Kennedy and other liberal Democrats in control of the U.S. Senate.
For that, he was criticized severely by the news media, in letters to the editor and by Democrats.
Guess what? Pete was right on target and his detractors were dead wrong. As things now stand, if Ricketts had been elected instead of Nelson, the Republicans would have retained control of the Senate.
I don't suppose you who were yelling at Pete would be interested in some crow?
