Letter to the Editor

What citizens?

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Dear Editor,

In response to Larry (Harvey's) repeat of the never-ending onslaught of slander ... you've got to be kidding! ["Distracted leaders" (http:// www.mccookgazette.com/story/1174347.html] Democrats are throwing a fit over their idea of "legalized torture" (interrogating terrorists who were arrested for firing weapons at American soldiers). Notice he said "permit arrest and detention without regard to OUR rights as citizens." Larry, foreign terrorists aren't "citizens" in the eyes of most in our country.

(The use of "our" in that sentence is somewhat disturbing.) And as for the Democrats not wanting the Gov. to be able to do electronic surveillance on suspected terrorists ... do you think they'd go for having their cargo inspected at the ports?

Ha! That'd be removing more precious rights and freedoms.

"We wouldn't be in this mess but for White House neglect" Right ... from about '92 to about '2000.

We are indeed in a war but it is at least on foreign soil. Makes no difference what country it is in ... terrorists don't stop at a country's' borders. Let the Democrats back in the White House and the war will be back here in the United States and we can experience more 9/11s.

Our leaders are indeed distracted ... they have to spend all their time defending themselves from the antics of the Liberals.

It is a sad state of affairs to have the American leftists siding with terrorists just to do damage to the present administration.
