OBERLIN -- Floyd A Brown, 87, died Friday (Oct. 20, 2006) at the Decatury County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

He was born May 12, 1919, to Charles C. and Rose Anna (Wooley) Brown on the family farm in Decatur County. He attended Plainview Country School and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1937.

He enlisted in the military and after his discharge returned to the family farm.

On Sept. 19, 1948, he married Marylou Anderson in Junction City, Kan. He continued his work as a farmer.

He was a member of the Plainview School board.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Kay Ione Brown; three brothers, Ralph, Harold, and Harry Brown; and four sisters, Lena Simpson, Verna Quinlisk, Betty Smith and Merle Atherton.

Survivors include his wife, Marylou of Oberlin; two sons, Dan of Oberlin and David and wife, Tammy of Kansas City, Kan.; four daughters, Julie Johnston and husband, Rick of Kansas City, Kan., Jenny Phillips and husband, Tom of Seattle, Wash., Barbara Custer and husband, Duane of Salina, Kan., and Karmel Hutfles of McCook; one brother, Earl Brown and wife, Zola of Selden, Kan.; one sister, Mary Alderson of California; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are today at 3:30 p.m., in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation was today.

Memorials may be given to Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
