Signs of the times

Dear Editor,

There are big signs of the vote to come and promises of great hope in a land where our elected can't go a day without spreading fear.

Fear, higher taxes, more fines on the 58,000 laws on the books. Fear even to speak, move or vote.

There are other signs though. Just as the working poor are no longer able to hunt or fish, now the city has killed gardening. So we on the bottom plant a sign of the times.

A seed that in one summer grows 20 feet tall with 2 foot wide leaves. This tropical anti- snake plant gives those of us quick shade and the bamboo like tree that takes very little water and stands up easily to high winds. The uses of this plant from the river of no return, are still being discovered but many projects are planned for this fuel plant.

Unlike the elected whose words are only to help corporations and the rich, we the vote-less give this picture of our sign:
