Letter to the Editor

Leeding the way

Saturday, October 14, 2006

Dear Editor,

Ah, I loved the letter to the editor pointing out the paper's misuse of the words there, their and they're which are all pronounced the same way.

The best part was spotting Robert's use of the word lead (meaning the heavy metal) when he meant led (as in show the way, the past tense). That is a tricky one because we use lead (spelled like the heavy metal but pronounced like "leed" which isn't a real word) also meaning show the way but in the present tense!

'Tis a sticky wicket this proper use of the English language.

Now what word did I use out of context?
