Letter to the Editor

Not marveled

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

Dear Editor,

I am not marveled by the Open Forum letter from R. Burns of 7-20 A.D. 2006, and here's why: 1 John 3:13 "Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you."

I became a Born Again Christian in 1994, by the grace of God, but God does not love me any more or any less than anyone else. Jesus Christ is, among other things, my counselor, and I am less than nothing without Him. God chooses everyone, He does not want anyone to be lost.

He stands at the door and knocks, and everyone makes the decision to either invite Him in, or ignore Him. I remember, before I became born again, I would be going through the stations on the radio trying to find my kind of music, and I would hit on a Christian station during a sermon. I would tune that station out as soon as possible because of the conviction I felt.

Thank God for conviction. I was, as Bishop Dennis Leonard says, "As lost as a goose in a snowstorm."

People who are lost, whether it be in a strange city, or as a lifestyle, become angry. The root of anger is fear. The solution is Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Sincerely,

George R. Anderson, McCook
