Honor the officers

Dear Editor,

I attended a Memorial Service at Karrer Park on Monday, May 15 for Law Enforcement week.

Even though the morning was beautiful and the service heart touching, I was sad. Thinking that in a town of almost 8,000 people there were only about five adults and three children watching the service.

They may stop you, they may ticket you and they may arrest you, but remember they will also protect you.

So to all the business owners and 911 callers this week, if you can run or walk call your local Law Enforcement agency and tell them "Thank You."

A personal thank-you to Sgt. Joel Smith, Pastor Kevin Fink, Mayor Dennis Berry and the families of officer Todd Garcia and office Jerry Calvin for remembering our fallen heroes and our heroes still in service.
