Letter to the Editor

City crucifixion

Friday, April 7, 2006

Dear Editor,

I am really surprised at the way the citizens of McCook were acting at Monday's meeting.

From what I read in the paper it was just terrible, what kind of people are we any way. I agree 100 percent in what was said by Steve Batty and Bill Frasier in the April 6 issues of the paper.

We must remember that we are adults, we should act like a adults and those actions at the meeting are not adult-like. Also, we are Christians and what Christians would treat another person like that?

If you remember right, this is Easter time and look what happen to Jesus Christ?

I am just saying that the mob is treating John Bingham like a mob treated Jesus. John probably made some mistakes in the past, but drop that issue and let's do something about it.

It appears to me that he cannot do this job all by himself after picking up some one else's mistakes as well.

I will agree on the issue of prayer before the meeting, and maybe if there was a prayer and we were reminded that we are Christians, maybe some of this would not happen as bad as it did Monday.

Finally, I say, never judge a man until you walk a mile in his shoes, and this is something Jesus has taught us.
