Tuesday, February 7, 2006

CURTIS -- The NCTA Aggies played almost errorless basketball as they defeated Central Christian College of McPherson, Kan., on Thursday night 81-68.

The Aggies put together a zone defense to stop the big team from Central.

The Aggies were led by Brad Nab with 22, B.J. Luke 17, David Bills 14, Matt Klima 10 and Dillon Olson each with 10.

Luke pulled down 16 rebounds.

Coach Del Van Der Werff had high praise for his team.

"We knew we were in for a challenge when Central took the floor with a 6-7 center, two 6-5 forwards, and a 6-2 and a 6-3 guard," Van Der Werff said.

After a quick start, the Aggies found themselves behind during the first half but were able to come back to lead at the intermission 36-30.

Brad Nab of Crook, Colo., picked up 5 steals. David Bills of Lincoln hit 3 long-range shots to help the cause.

The Aggies have lost only one game since the Christmas break and have won five.

In January the Aggies lost by four to Nebraska Christian of Norfolk.

NCTA now has a 11-6 record and will host the Barclay College Bears of Haviland, Kan., at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
