Welcome chimes

Editor;

Beautiful, great, wonderful! There are not enough words to describe how fantastic this feat is. The renewel of McMillen Hall is even more complete now with the restoration of the chimes. I know there are many friends and alumni smiling from up above and around McCook when they hear the chimes ring once again.

I do remember the chimes ringing when I was a little fella growing up in McCook. I used them to let me know as others did what time it was by counting them as they struck on the hour. I was usually late getting home or wherever I was going anyway. But, they were helpful so I could tell just how late I was going to be and how big a story I needed to tell.

Thanks to the Foundation, Board of Governors, MCC staff and administration and all the supporters and workers on this project.

I am pretty sure many of our departed loved ones like my mother Dorothy Hartwell, and friends of mine and the colleges Dick Driml and Ken Bollerup, all great supporative employees of MCC would be and are very pleased and happy, as I am with this. Along with Mr. Search (the only name I knew him by) and fellow alumni Judge Cheney (the only name I knew him by).

Again, thanks for bringing back a truly great asset of MCC and McCook. Many colleges would love to have what MCC has in its entirety.
