Fun event to watch

Monday, January 23, 2006

While residents of the Golden Plains didn't have the thrill of watching Milo Smith's cars sell, we were introduced to a fascinating experience: the Barrett-Jackson collectible car sale. The event -- televised on the Speed network -- attracted many area viewers because of the sale of Milo's 1928 Packard Roadster and 1937 Pierce-Arrow Limo. Both sold Saturday morning before televised coverage began.

Rod Berry and Clint McKenzie represented Milo, who received bids of $85,320 for the Packard and $52,920 for the Pierce Arrow. The bids fell below estimates, but it was still an honor to have Milo's cars in such an elite auction.
