Letter to the Editor

It's 'Christmas'!

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

Dear Editor,

My fellow Christians, it is now a time of great celebration! Our Lord has come through Mary as an infant to redeem us all, and we must not forget the true meaning of this Christmas season. We must wish everyone a "Merry Christmas" and not just a "Happy Holidays" as many of the stores will be saying.

It our duty as Christians to stand up for our God, to witness when given an opportunity.

I ask you to come together as Christians, as our Lord tells us to. Not hiding under that bushel basket, that keeps so many of us silent.

We can, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, do something about this. First, wish to all "Merry Christmas" when they greet you with "Happy Holiday." Second, write your local store and ask them to add the greeting of "Merry Christmas." And, finally, contact the (corporate home office) directly and state your insistence on using the greeting "Merry Christmas" (when greeted in the store).

And I wish you a Merry Christmas,

Brenda S. Miller,

Culbertson
