Wish it were true

Dear Editor,

As an alum of McCook High ('79), I wish it were true that McCook is the first team in the history of Nebraska 11-man football to reach the title game 4 straight years [as stated in this article "Bison reach state title game for fourth straight season."

Unfortunately, I believe Omaha Creighton Prep played in five consecutive Class-A State Championship games from 1985-1989, and won them all.

EDITOR'S NOTE -- The writer is correct. Over all classes, Falls City Sacred Heart holds the record, six, from 1989 to 1994). In addition, a fake field goal in the second quarter of the semifinal game against Beatrice was referred to as a fake punt in a story. The Gazette regrets the errors.
