Shoeshine boy

Dear Editor,

I, too shined Sen. Norris' shoes ['The Fighting Liberal' was a tightwad" (http:// www.mccookgazette.com/story/1116540.html)].

When he would come to the barbershop run by Bert Pousch and Fred Schneider, I, being the shoeshine boy, would always shine the senator's shoes.

The cost of a shine then was 10 cents, and that is just what the senator gave me -- no tips.

In a good week, I would make as much as one dollar.
