Successful fireworks show

Congratulations, McCook!

For making your community Fourth of July Fireworks Display a huge success.

The wonderful and enthusiastic crowd, perfect weather provided by Mother Nature, and a sky brilliantly painted by Stonebraker Fireworks, made for a night that will long be remembered.

The McCook Optimist Club was proud to be the sponsor of this project, but make no mistake about it, this was a community event.

So many poured their thoughts, time and efforts into getting this project off the ground. The list of contributors of time, money and materials is a long one. We applaud all of your much-appreciated contributions. You have our thanks and admiration.

The groundwork has been laid. We now have one year's display under our belts, and with this experience, we now have a better understanding of the proper steps required to again make this event an annual tradition in McCook.

The Optimist Club welcomes your thoughts, ideas and financial contributions to help us get started on the planning for continuing the fireworks for McCook in 2006. You may forward them to:
