Sad day in history

Friday, June 24, 2005

Dear Editor;

Yesterday, June 23, 2005, was another sad day in the history of our liberal judicial system. The Supreme Court ruled that local governments may seize people's homes and businesses against their will for private development.

In other words your land, your house, your private property just got placed on the auction block for the highest bidder. And to top that off, you won't receive the highest bid. The city, state or federal governing agencies condemning your property will receive the highest bid. You'll just get the so called "fair market value."

At question is the constitution's Fifth Amendment which states 'nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.' Which part of that statement would lead the Supreme Court to rule that this also applies to private development I do not know?

I do know one thing, we can all thank the courts liberal wing for this ruling (Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, Breyer). I guess this would fall under the liberal definition "there is always a better way to do things."

This is scary stuff people. How scary you ask? Well just read this quote "In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."This quote is from Carl Marx's Communist Manifesto.
