Area spikers to compete in Sertoma Classic

The 14th Annual Sertoma All-Star Volleyball Classic gets underway at 7 p.m. on June 18 when 26 of the area recently graduated volleyball stars meet at the McCook High School gymnasium.

Sandy Burke of Maxwell and Lynne Johnson of Gothenburg will coach the East Team.

Renee Marquardt of Grant and Amanda Miller of North Platte will coach the West Team.

Each team will get four practices during the week with the key to success being how quickly and effectively they can become a team.

Admission to the Classic is $6 for adults, $3 for students and children 5 and under will be free.

Proceeds from this event are used by the McCook Area Sertoma Club to help purchase equipment and provide services for speech and hearing screenings in the area schools and day care centers.
