CULBERTSON -- Orvil D. Gray, 76, died Friday (May 20, 2005), at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born on Nov. 23, 1928, to David A. and Zula M. (Ayers) Gray in Culbertson. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1947 and attended 3 1/2 years of college.

On June 1, 1957, he married Clara J. Rose in McCook. They lived on a farm in the Culbertson community all their married life. He was living at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the time of his death.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook. In his free time, he worked in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara; one brother, Edward Gray; and two sisters, Velma Pollman and Lula M. Wilson.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Catherine Rose of McCook; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerel Scholl officiating. Internment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.

Rosary will be Sunday, at 6:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday from 6 p.m. until time of rosary.
