Please attend

Thursday, May 19, 2005

Dear Editor,

Monday, the 23rd of May, at noon, the McCook City Council is holding a special meeting dealing with trading the present McCook Public Safety Center for the East Ward School building. I do not know if this is the first step for McCook council and staff to proceed with the building of a new public safety center or not, but it does show signs in that direction.

I encourage you, the public, to take time out of your busy day to attend this special meeting.

All of the feedback I have gotten from the citizens of Red Willow County (City of McCook included) is, if we need a jail/safety center, let's build one building, which will include all law enforcement, fire, rescue and jail facilities.

You have expressed your desire to me that Red Willow County (City of McCook included) citizens do not need to pay for or be taxed on two separate facilities.

In my opinion, we now have a majority of city council members in place that will listen to the public, and vote for the desire of the majority.

Please try to attend this special meeting.

Leigh T. Hoyt,

Red Willow County

commissioner
