Letter to the Editor

That settles that

Tuesday, May 3, 2005

Dear Editor,

The following facts might clear up the motorcycle helmet law issue:

Football players in official games are required to be in uniform.

This includes the wearing of appropriate headgear.

Yet, there are far more knee injuries to motorcycle riders than football players who do not choose to wear shoulder pads.

And, there are far more former cyclists in the cemetery than there are football players who weren't allowed to choose the freedom not to wear a helmet.

The conclusion is obvious: all football players should be allowed to block and tackle with a helmet off!
