NCTA hosts first
Jr./Sr. golf tourney
CURTIS -- The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture welcomed six golfers from three states to the first Jr./Sr. Golf Tournament.
NCTA coach Brad Jakubowski joined the competitors as they teed off at the Curtis Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course.
Golfers enjoyed a round of nine holes. Whitney Jo Higgins of Nebraska City won the women's division while Matt Klima of Wauneta shot the best round in the men's division.
The winners earned scholarships to attend NCTA.
Both Higgins and Klima are signed up to attend NCTA this fall.

McCook YMCA
taking registrations
for fall sports season
The McCook YMCA is currently taking registration for the upcoming fall sports season.
There is volleyball for girls in grades 3-7 and flag football for boys in grades 1-7.
Registration will continue until July 30.
The cost for the program is $18 for members and $45 for program members.
Games will start on Saturday, Sept. 11.

McCook Optimist
Club golf scramble
slated for Aug. 1
The McCook Optimist Club's seventh annual Golf Scramble is slated for Sunday, Aug. 1 at McCook's Heritage Hills Goolf Course.
Registration is 8 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The format is an 18-hole, four-person scramble. Both men and women are welcome to enter.
Cost is $240 per team and is limited to the first 36 teams.
A meal will be provided after each team's round. Mulligans are available.
There will be a hole-in-one contest, cash prozes, raffles, flight prizes and flag prizes.
