Ford, Reagan?

Dear Editor,

I have two suggestions for naming McCook's new elementary school. The first is Gerald Ford Elementary. I feel this would be appropriate because President Ford is the only native-born Nebraskan to become president of the United States.

The other suggestion is Ronald Reagan Elementary. President Reagan was the overwhelming choice of Nebraskans in his runs for the presidency. Also, Ronald Reagan made a stop in McCook during his first campaign to become the Republican nominee for president.
