Riding a dead horse

Friday, June 25, 2004

Dear Editor,

I want to thank Kirt Matson for his swift answer to my question on Kerry, June 21. Kirt, we haven't heard from you for so long, I thought you might be in Iraq hunting for those WMDs you and George are so sure are there.

What does David Kay know, right? I am surprised that someone with your knowledge and expertise in everything isn't working for the administration. They certainly need your help.

I think your great leader is slipping, and that you are riding a dead horse.

But what could a left-wing ultra-liberal like me know? Your words, a year or so ago. Even I knew Clinton was a draft dodger.

Never heard him deny it, and the primary reason he is my hero is because he kept the Republicans out of the White House for eight years. You thought it was because of Monica, didn't you?

I am going to take your word that you deal only in facts, but not all of you conservatives do.

There is one in D.C. who doesn't, and he lies a lot, too.

Sorry to learn about Kerry, but he is still my man, despite all his faults.

No, I don't think that everyone who volunteered was a draft dodger, just your guy, or anyone who pulled strings to avoid combat.

I tried as hard as I could on this; hope it meets your approval.

As Steve Stramel suggests, this fruitcake is signing off.

If it would help you any, you can tell me all the bad stuff on Kennedy and Daschle.

Bob Thayer,

McCook
