LINCOLN -- Head coach Brett Balak released the names of five recruits who have said they will enroll at Nebraska Wesleyan University and play men's golf, including McCook senior Tyler Lawson.

"This is another talented group from top to bottom," Balak said. "A couple may vie for spots in our top five right away, and it's another excellent group academically, which is what we look for here at Nebraska Wesleyan."

The other recruits are John Paek, Lincoln High; Clay Peterson, Lincoln Southwest; Aaron Sundberg Lincoln Southeast and Scott Thorson, Millard North.

Lawson was the Class B State Champion in 2003 and finished sixth in the state tournament this year for McCook High School. In Class A, Paek (pronounced Pack) took fourth at state in 2003 and 13th in 2004. Peterson placed 12th and 13th the past two years for Lincoln Southwest High School.

"They've all played well in some big tournaments, so they're all good players," Balak said. "Combined with our returning players, they'll give us another chance to compete at the national level."

The Prairie Wolves placed eighth at the 2004 NCAA Division III Championships with three sophomores and a first-year player competing in their top five, including PING Division III Second Team All-American Jon Deines, and GCAA All-Freshman Team member Aaron Stockton.

Nebraska Wesleyan University does not give athletic scholarships or sign national letters of intent.
