Letter to the Editor

And the survey said ...

Wednesday, May 26, 2004

Dear Editor,

On Monday, May 24, Bush asks us to trust him as he rides out the Iraq debacle, a matter of his own making.

Why should we? For the last year and a half, the administration has made one screw up after another. Reminds me of the Keystone Cops, only it isn't funny. Who is this guy that asks our trust?

We all know he is a draft dodger. He is also a liar.

Consider his story about the WMD in Iraq, and note this: On Family Feud of May 6, the question (was) "Who is the biggest liar in the U.S." Bush was the number one answer.

He is also a phony in my opinion. The staged dramatic landing on the carrier, May 1, 2003. The strut across the deck in a flight suit, helmet under arm, under the huge banner "Mission Accomplished." Plus, the staged appearance at the 500 races a few months ago. At least he didn't pretend to drive one of the racers.

Now we have the Abu Ghraib mess, which no one in the administration knew anything about.

I think it is time to think impeachment. From the top down. I heard Bush claims God won the election for him in 2000. And all the time, I thought the Supreme Court gave it to him.

If he wins this time, do you suppose that God doesn't think we have suffered enough at Bush's hands, and need four more years of penance?

Bob Thayer,

McCook
