Her kitty will live

Thursday, May 13, 2004

Dear Editor,

Did the wind beat you some? Your plants got it worse. I use old bricks to place around young plants, maybe two high on the south side. Bricks give shade, yet warm the ground and stop high wind from drying out plants.

I also, off to the corner of my lot, let weeds and grass get tall, then hand cut the free straw to place under plants to stop moisture loss and disease problems.

So, why are many of us growing plants? Here is one reason.

A little girl came to the store, and said, "My kitty is gong to live, and it only cost my dad $800 at the vets!
