No fireworks?

Dear Editor,

McCook Elks Lodge has a long history of sponsoring the annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration in McCook.

And, of course, the event could not have been possible without the help of the many dedicated business owners and civic organizations and individuals who have also contributed financial resources.

It comes with much sadness that we are not in a position to sponsor the fireworks festivities this year. We feel it is important to let you (the public) know this, because of the patriotic impact this could have on our community.
