Provider Day

Tuesday, May 4, 2004

Dear Editor,

Friday, May 7, is being observed nationally (and locally) as Early Childhood Provider Appreciation Day.

This is a special day to recognize all early childhood professionals, such as child care providers, preschool teachers and educators of young children.

Started in 1996, Provider Appreciation Day is appropriately celebrated each year on the Friday before Mother's Day.

The event recognizes the tireless efforts of providers who care for children of working parents. The Southwest Nebraska Early Childhood Coalition invites everyone to join us in saluting those who take care of our children. Early childhood professionals do the most important of work, often for very low pay.

They do so because they genuinely care about our children. It takes special people to work in this field. Please take the time to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

Sincerely,

Mary Bargen,

coordinator

Southwest Nebraska Early Childhood Coalition
