Letter to the Editor

Unsolicited help

Monday, April 12, 2004

Dear Editor,

Encloses is a copy of a letter I received on Good Friday.

In a letter to the editor of the Gazette on Dec. 3, 2003, Tim Butz, the executive director of the ACLU Nebraska, stated "... the ACLU represented him (Col. North) in overturning his conviction in the Iran Contra affair."

I believe that this copy from Co. North proves that the ACLU does not "tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth."

Mark 3:25: "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand." 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Sincerely,

George R. Anderson

EDITOR'S NOTE -- Anderson's letter included a copy of a letter from Oliver L. North:

Dear George,

Many thanks for your letter of support sent to Focus On The Family and your kind words. I am also thankful to hear of your personal profession of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

With regards to your question about the ACLU, they filed with the court an amicus curiae. That is by definition, "A person invited to advise a court on a matter of law in a case (to) which he is not a party. (Lat., 'friend of the court.')" What the ACLU did was unsolicited.

Many thanks for standing up for what is right, George.

Semper Fidelis,

Oliver L. North
