Tuesday, March 23, 2004

Dear Editor,

Republican Valley FFA would like to thank all of the people that assisted the chapter in successfully holding the first ever Southwest Classic Livestock Judging Contest March 18 in the Kiplinger Arena.

Eight area schools competed in the FFA contest and used it as preparation for the upcoming State FFA Contests on April 1-2.

Special thanks is reserved for the local livestock producers who provided all of the livestock for the contest: Jim and Hazel Bobinmyer of Bobinmyer Show Lambs, Greg Wolfe of Wolfe and Son's Show Pigs, Norm Timmerman of Timmerman and Son's Feedlot, Larry Durner of Durner Farms, Paul Schaffert of Schaffert Manufacturing, and Rob Lampe of KJ River Ranch.

The chapter would like to also thank all of individuals who assisted with the contest: Jeff Ruggles, Patrick Minary, Joel Uerling, Regina Minary, Renee Minary, Matt Tiller, Rebecca Durner, and Pete Tiller. Special thanks to Kent Been for tabulating the results for the contest, and to contest officials John O'Dea, T.J. Bobinmyer, and Dan Wolfe for officiating the contest.

Sincerely,

Les J. Roggenkamp
